Custom Chutes, Inc. offers wide selection of towlines, from beach takeoff towline to a modern boat operation towline. We can supply the towline to suite your needs, this will depend on a few factors such as the type of parasail operation, the vessel type, the local conditions and the captain or operator preference. Below are all the towlines we sell with their prime role and suitability.
For beach takeoff style parasailing, this is normal Recreational but can be for commercial beach or platform takeoff in areas that have not adopted modern parasailing techniques. We recommend using our 1/2” 3-strand twisted polypropylene line, this is a floating towline and is rated to 5000 lbs. breaking strain which is sufficient for beach and platform parasailing.
This type of towline cannot be used on any type of winch system.

For modern winch boat parasailing we offer a few different types of towlines to suit different vessel and winch types. Each towline has properties that suit different operational parameters, from braid, diameter, fiber, strength, and urethane coating. Below are all our available towlines with their spec and recommended use, please read the information carefully to make sure it suits your needs and contact us if you have additional questions.
There is no set life span for towline, this will depend on the user and vessel its being used on. Please follow ASTM standard F3099 on parasail towline life and replacement.
This towline is constructed with a high tensile polyester fiber, braided as a single braid rope with a 12-strand 2 pairs braid style. This gives a strong but with medium to low stretch properties towline suitable for parasailing, with the added clear urethane protective coating applied to the towline at manufacturer it makes it an all-round parasail towline. This is suitable for most types of vessels, will work with Premiums, Centurion Flight 33’s/30’s and vessels fitted with the Custom Chutes winch system. It can also work with high wear systems but with reduced life, such as CWS Ocean Pros, Aerial Pros & Nordics and Paracrafts and any system with no levelwinder bar. The towline is coated with clear urethane protective coating is not colored to reduce mess in engine room, it also has no core due to its construction and is used for use with the PQL.
This towline is available in two diameters:
The 3/8 ths comes White with a Red colored fleck for color coding and easiness of seeing the rope moving, it has a breaking strain of 8,000 lbs. and should only be used with a PQL to connect to the parasail. Should not be used with CWS OP’s, Aerial Pros or Nordics that have not had the Knot Stopper replace with roller unit (4-way rollers).

The 7/16 ths comes White with a Green colored fleck for color coding and easiness of seeing the rope moving, it has a breaking strain of 10,500 lbs. and recommended to be used with a PQL to connect to the parasail.

This towline is constructed with a high tensile polyester fiber, braided as a double braid rope with a braid core. This gives a strong but with medium to low stretch properties towline suitable for parasailing, it is suitable for vessels with low wear systems, such as Premiums, Centurion Flight 33’s/30’s and vessels fitted with the Custom Chutes winch system/Pulley block.
The towline is available in 7/16 ths, comes White with a Blue colored fleck for color coding and easiness of seeing the rope moving, it has a breaking strain of 6,500 lbs. and is suitable for bowline knot use.

This towline is constructed with a high tensile polyester fiber, braided as a double braid rope with a braid core. This gives a strong but with medium to low stretch properties towline suitable for parasailing, with the added clear urethane protective coating applied to the towline at manufacturer it makes it an all-round parasail towline. This is suitable for vessels with high wear systems, such as CWS Ocean pros, Aerial pros & Nordics and Paracrafts and any system with no levelwinder bar.
The towline is available in 7/16 ths, comes White with a Black colored fleck for color coding and easiness of seeing the rope moving, it has a breaking strain of 6,500 lbs. and is suitable for bowline knot use.

This towline is constructed with a high tensile Dyneema/Spectra fiber, braided as a single braid rope with a 12-strand braid style. This gives an extremely strong but with very low stretch properties towline not suitable for rough ocean conditions. With the added clear urethane protective coating applied to reduce wear to the towline at manufacturer, it has no fleck color and no core. This towline is for vessels with small capacity drums, such as CWS Nordics and Paracrafts with Pullmasters winches.
The towline is available in 5/16 ths, comes White and has a breaking strain of 14,000 lbs., not recommended for bowline knot.
